Ākonga mental health and wellbeing

This module has been developed by the Te Pukenga Code of Practice Project team. It covers what to notice and how to respond when you encounter ākonga needing support with their wellbeing or mental health. Guidance and tools will ensure the safety of both you and ākonga.

Suitable for: all staff where learning is well supported by the team 

Module Series

This module is one of series of four modules designed to support the implementation of the Pastoral Care Code and to help teams enhance their collective approach to the pastoral care mahi.

The modules are:

      • Cracking The Code – Introduction to the Code of Pastoral Care

      • Supporting ākonga mental health and wellbeing

      • More than just a room – ākonga accommodation

      • Supporting ākonga with Dyslexia

    Modules are interactive and can be completed individually or as a team.
